Artists & Exhibits
2019 Featured Artist
The 57th Annual Sierra Madre Art Fair’s Featured Artist is Warren Yip, who leverages a background in design to create minimalist wooden vessels.
After studying architecture at the University of Oklahoma and Columbia University, Warren worked at design firms in New York and Florida before transitioning into home accessory design. His specialty was desk and tabletop fixtures, which he sold mainly in Honolulu.
Inspired by the art of Hawaiian floral presentation, he shifted his focus to flower containers. His signature style utilizes simplicity to bring out the natural beauty of each arrangement; his containers are both a compliment to the flowers and a stand-alone art form.
“Giraffe” by Warren Yip
Now semi-retired and based in California, Warren enjoys exhibiting his work at art fairs with the help of his wife, Nancy.
